TRIPPY – THE SUMMER OF LOVE ROLLS ROYCE
I created this Work of Art to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the 1967 Summer of Love. It is an homage to the musicians, promoters, photographers, roadies, and, of course, the poster artists who made the magic happen. It is dedicated to my brother Ed, who shared that magical scene with me, and to our parents Helen and Don Ewald, who encouraged us to experience it. —Donna Ewald Huggins (2017)
In front of the venerable Curran theater on opening night of the smash hit A Night With Janis Joplin. The star of the show, Kacee Clanton was superb and I told her so at the cast party afterwards.
With my friends at Forestville Pizzeria in Forestville, CA.
Trippy was one of the stars of the show at the 50th Anniversary of Monterey Pop. We made the trip down to see Booker T and the Stax review and to take in the scene. A scene from 1967… peace love and marijuana everywhere. Just driving around town and down the Coast was a blast.
Here we are at Mill Valley’s Memorial Day Parade – we were right behind Wavy Gravy and Larry Brilliant – quite an honor.
At the Driven to Perfection Car Show in Sebastopol which benefits the Sebastopol Senior Center. I got to show Trippy to famous artist Stanley Mouse. He gave it a thumbs up!
Comedian Bob Sarlatte and friend admire Trippy at the California Historical Society. With legendary producer and co-creator of Monterey Pop Lou Adler.
At the California Historical Society in San Francisco for the debut of the fabulous show ON THE ROAD TO THE SUMMER OF LOVE.
Trippy checks out San Francisco’s Great Highway.
